For more than a year, bombs have devastated Gaza’s water infrastructure, including networks, pipes, boreholes, and wells. More than half of Gaza’s water supply system has been damaged. Support our Gaza water appeal to provide a sustainable source of clean water, delivering 52,000 liters per hour.
$640 can provide a clean desalinated water tank for people in Gaza.
Families are currently cut off from clean water. The bombs and land attacks have ravaged the water system. Sewage networks, boreholes, and desalination plants have been destroyed, making repairs nearly impossible as more bombs fall.
Even before the attacks, Palestinians in Gaza had spent years drinking water contaminated with salt, seawater, sewage, and bacteria, leading to health complications among children, including renal failure, fatal diarrhea, and dehydration.
Today, as many as 70% of people in Gaza have resorted to drinking contaminated, salty water. A person needs 15 liters of water per day, but the UN estimates that Gazans receive only 3 liters per day for all their needs.
The destruction of sewage treatment plants has resulted in sewage floods and a heightened risk of disease, especially as families are displaced and living outdoors.
Give clean water, reap the blessings for years to come
With your help, our team in Gaza continues to provide 52,000 liters of clean water to Palestinians each hour, primarily to displaced families. Help us maintain our role as a lifeline for families struggling to survive.
Charity brings protection
It is a tremendous blessing to give, no matter how small the contribution, as charity offers blessings and protection in this life and the hereafter, transforming the lives of people facing hardship worldwide.
Charity brings mercy to both the recipients and the givers. Be a source of mercy for a Palestinian family struggling to access water, and experience the rewards of charitable giving.
“Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
Our work in Gaza
We have been changing lives in Palestine for 32 years.
Before these recent attacks, our Gaza team completed extensive water projects, including disinfecting the entire water network and building a desalination plant for 15,000 people at Al Aqsa University. We also contributed to combating the critical medical crisis by providing tens of thousands of medical supplies.
So far, we have assisted more than 714,763 people in Palestine through emergency work, shelter, food security, and medical and water sanitation projects.
Give the best of charities and reap the enduring blessings of this Sadaqah Jariyah.
